Bruins vs. Panthers: Game 5 Preview

The Boston Bruins will look to close out their second-round series with the Florida Panthers when they visit Sunrise for Game 5 on Tuesday night.

The Bruins took a 3-1 lead in the series with a 5-1 victory in Game 4 on Sunday night. David Pastrnak scored twice, including an empty-netter, and Brad Marchand added a goal and two assists for Boston.

The Panthers, meanwhile, will be looking to avoid elimination and force a Game 6 in Boston on Thursday night. Aleksander Barkov scored the lone goal for Florida in Game 4, while Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves.

The Bruins have been the better team in the series to this point, but the Panthers have shown that they can be a dangerous opponent when they're at their best. Game 5 is sure to be a close one, and it could go either way.

Here are three things to watch for in Game 5:

  1. The Bruins' power play has been clicking in this series, going 3-for-10. The Panthers, on the other hand, have struggled on the power play, going 0-for-10.
  2. The Bruins' top line of Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, and Pastrnak has been producing at a high level in this series. They've combined for 10 points in four games.
  3. The Panthers' top line of Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Anthony Duclair has been quiet in this series. They've combined for just three points in four games.

The Bruins will be looking to close out the series in Game 5, but the Panthers will be looking to force a Game 6. It's sure to be a close one.
